From December 1st 2003 the Law on using a Held Device (Mobile Phone, PDA etc) is to change.

From December 2003 all Drivers must use the Mobile phone in a Hands Free Car Kit. This means that the phone must be used in a fixed cradle and not be loose e.g on a lap, passanger seat, centre console, all of these positions will be deemed not Hands Free. This means that wired Hands Free kits like Walkman style kits and Blue tooth Car Kits and Earpieces will be illegal usless the phone is mounted in a cradle.

Offenders are subject to a £30 fine, but if the case gose to court this can rise to £1000. Please follow this link to read the full Legislation..>>
